The classic Windows Notepad application has found a new home in the Microsoft Store. You can now search for it and download it from there.
Microsoft, starting with Windows 10 20H1, it seems that it wants to turn Notepad into a standalone app in the Store. This does not mean that the Notebook will be excluded from the installation of Windows 10. It will remain connected to the functional system and is available with it. But Microsoft is changing the way the app receives its updates.
Notepad upgrades are no longer associated with the Windows 10 Update program. It will receive standalone updates like any other Store app.
According to the company, this change will allow them to respond quickly to problems and feedback on Notepad and will offer new features to users of the application much more immediately.
Notepad is one of the classic Windows applications that rarely had an update. However, starting with Windows 10 Build 17661, Notepad has received many new features and enhancements.
