What are the most popular torrent sites in early 2020? Continuing the tradition, Pirate Bay is the leader once again, while YTS follows in second place.
In terms of popularity, torrent sites seem to be obsolete and have been replaced by many streaming sites in recent years. However, they remain popular.
The famous website The Pirate Bay, after an adventurous year, has been relatively stable for the last twelve months, although it does not allow new users to register.
This year's list includes two newcomers. 'Fitgirl Repacks' comes in ninth place while Indian location Tamil Rockers closes the list at tenth place. These two replace TorrentDownloads and Zooqle, which were on last year's TorrentFreak list.
We limit the list to torrent sites that target primarily an international audience. This means that the websites are also famous RuTracker, TorrentWal, Squares, Dytt8And Etoland are not included even if they qualify in terms of popularity.
Below is the complete list of the ten most visited torrent sites at the beginning of the new year. The directory is based on several traffic reports and we display the Alexa ranking for each one.
1. The Pirate Bay
After more than 16 years, the Pirate Bay continues its journey. Although there were significant hiatuses in 2018, 2019 seems to have flown smoothly. The site closed registrations a few months ago, but remains open to the public. It also still works with the domain .org, but no one knows what will happen in the future.

YTS.lt is the unofficial one successor to the YTS or YIFY team. The site focuses on movie releases that are popular around the world. YTS has recently been the target of three lawsuits filed in the United States. Although the administrator signed a consent decision to compensate a creator, the website remains online.

1337x maintains its position in the top three websites. Unlike some other sites, it has a group of uploaders who provide fresh content on a daily basis base.
