Google: ban Zoom

Another company banned the use of the Zoom application. This time Google banned all its employees from using the app on their devices.

BuzzFeed News Reported last night that the team of the company sent out an internal email addressed to all of its employees as of last week informing them that the Zoom app is prohibited from being on their work systems.

A Google spokesperson said Zoom's desktop client does not meet the company's security standards. Employees can use the application only through a prebrowsing to keep in touch with their family or friends.

Why is the use of the application prohibited?

It is worth noting that Google also has a video conferencing application called Google Meet (also known as Hangout Meet).

Google has banned the application following a host of other companies and public bodies which have already banned Zoom: SpaceX, New York schools, the German Ministry of Health and the Taiwanese government.
