Debian 9.13 is now available for download as the latest update to version 9, also known as Stretch. As always, changelog reports software enhancements and security fixes.
Needless to say, this is a point release and the Debian team emphasizes that this is the final (latest) update of the 9 series, which means that you should upgrade to the Debian 10 version as soon as possible.
"After this release, Debian Security and Release Teams will no longer develop updates for Debian 9. Users wishing to continue receiving security updates will need to upgrade to Debian 10 or refer to https://wiki.debian.org/LTS for details on the subset of the architectures and packages covered by the Long Term Support project, ”says the development team.
The new version includes major bug fixes and security enhancements, such as patches for memory corruption issues and memory leaks. It also resolves login errors in TLS 1.2 that some users have encountered while trying to connect to specific hosting providers.
From here you can see the whole changelog.
As for the software, there are new versions of Firefox, Thunderbird and all the other packages that come with Debian. Those who update their devices on a regular basis will already be using some of the updated applications.
