Debian 9.13 is now available to download as the latest update for version 9, also known as Stretch. As always, the changelog reports software improvements and security fixes.
Needless to say, this is a point release and the Debian team emphasizes that this is the final (latest) update of the 9 series, which means that you should upgrade to the Debian 10 version as soon as possible.
"After this release, Debian Security and Release Teams will no longer develop updates for Debian 9. Users wishing to continue receiving security updates will need to upgrade to Debian 10 or refer to https://wiki.debian.org/LTS for details on the subset of the architectures and packages covered by the Long Term Support project, ”says the development team.
The new release includes important bug fixes and security improvements, such as patching for memory corruption issues and memory leaks. It also resolves errors connection to TLS 1.2 that some users experienced when trying to connect to certain hosting providers.

As for the updated software, there are new versions of the Firefox, Thunderbird and all the other packages that come with Debian. Those who update their devices regularly base they will already be using some of the updated apps.
