Debian 9.13 is now available for download as the latest information for version 9, also known as Stretch. As always, the changelog reports software improvements and security fixes.
Needless to say, this is a point release and the Debian team emphasizes that this is the final (latest) update of the 9 series, which means that you should upgrade to the Debian 10 version as soon as possible.
"After this release, the Debian Security and Release Teams will no longer develop updates for Debian 9. Users who wish to continue receiving security updates should upgrade to Debian 10 or refer to address https://wiki.debian.org/LTS for details on the subset of the architectures and packages covered by the Long Term Support project, ”says the development team.
The new version includes important bug fixes and security improvements, such as updates to code for memory corruption issues and memory leaks. It also resolves TLS 1.2 connection errors that some users experienced when trying to connect to certain hosting providers.
From here you can see the whole changelog.
As for updated software, there are new versions of Firefox, Thunderbird and all other packages that come with Debian. Those who update their devices on a regular basis will already be using some of the updated apps.
