Microsoft was released today a new Build 19042.508 (KB4571756) for Windows Insiders in the 20H2 Beta Channel. This is an updated version security which includes the same changes as patch KB4571756 (OS Build 19041.508) of version 20H1.
The 20H2 version of Microsoft Windows 10 is the successor to its 2004 version May 2020 Update released in May 2020. The 20H2 version of Windows 10 is a light update with minor changes focusing mainly on selected performance improvements, various corporate features and quality improvements.
The 20H2 version will be released for the Appliances currently running Windows 10 version 2004 using activation package KB4562830. It's the same method Microsoft used to update devices from Windows 10 version 1903 to version 1909.
Starting with the 20H2 version of Windows 10, Microsoft will start using a different version numbering. Microsoft will use a format that represents half of the name will represent the calendar year and the other half the semester available on consumer channels.
The company had explained that from Windows 10 of version 20H2 there is only the "version 20H2" instead of the "version 2009", as one would expect. This layout is a familiar approach to Windows Insiders and is designed to provide more consistency in Microsoft version names across all releases for commercial customers and their affiliates.
The company will also continue to use a friendly name, such as May 2020 Update.
