Brian Murray has announced the release of Ubuntu 20.10, codenamed “Groovy gorilla". The new version "wears" version 5.8 of the Linux kernel and by default runs the GNOME 3.38 desktop environment.
"Groovy Gorilla or 20.10 continues Ubuntu's proud tradition of incorporating the latest and greatest open source technologies code in a high quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has been hard at work this cycle, introducing new features and fixing bugs. The Ubuntu kernel has been updated to Linux kernel 5.8 and our default toolchain has been moved to gcc 10 with glibc 2.32.
In addition, there is now a desktop variant for the Raspberry Pi 4. Ubuntu Desktop 20.10 brings GNOME 3.38, with significant performance improvements that offer a more responsive experience.
