25 years Web: On December 20, 1990, the British scientist Sir Tim Berners-Lee hosted the world's first website on the NeXT computer at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research).
Today's day marks 25's birthday of the first site.
After its invention World Wide Web in 1989 as a way to transfer information for all the institutes of the world, Berners-Lee started the first on-line ιστότοπο που περιέγραφε πώς να στήσετε έναν εξυπηρετητή και πώς να δώσετε access in content to others.
The world's first website explained how to access the internet.
The Web has evolved considerably since then, with powerful applications, services and unlimited sources of information on any topic you can think of.
It's exciting to see the humble start of the Internet as we know it to compare how far we have gone.
CERN still has the original server that hosted Berners-Lee's first online creation and 2013, reinstated the site to its original address.
