iOS device owners better watch out video that they want to play on their device. A video is currently circulating on the internetnetwork which can “throw” almost any iPhone or iPad in three seconds.
The video has been uploaded to YouTube, and if you play the .mp4 in Safari on any iOS device the system will start to slow down significantly until it freeze completely.

We currently don't know what specific video is causing the malfunction, but the most likely explanation is that the clip is corrupted archive which causes memory leaks when loaded in Safari.
Let's say it does not seem to work on older devices (tested on iPhone 4 running with iOS 7.1.2 and the device continued to work).
