Computer users report risks security from malware ως την κορυφαία αιτία για να μην χρησιμοποιεί κάποιος παράνομο software. Μεταξύ των ανησυχιών τους είναι οι εισβολές από χάκερ και η απώλεια δεδομένων. Ωστόσο, το 62% of the software installed on personal computers in Greece in 2013 did not have the appropriate one permission use.
These and other findings published in BSA's global software survey highlight the need for effective software management practices, particularly in the business sector.
The research is being conducted every two years for BSA by IDC, which this year was addressed to computer users in 34 markets, including about 22.000 private and desktop PC workers and more than 2.000 executives.
Among the findings are:
-The percentage of PC software installed without the proper licensing in Greece was 62% 2013, marginally increased by 1% relative to 2011. The commercial value of this illegal software amounts to 220 million dollars.
-The main reason computer users around the world choose not to use illegal software is to avoid security threats from malware. Among the risks associated with illegal software, 64% of users mention unauthorized access from hackers as the main concern and 59% data loss.
-Only 35% of companies worldwide have a clear policy that requires the use of properly licensed software.
