An issue that got bigger, came in the last few days and began with a publication of the New Scientist website. Google discovered that 90% of users do not know the use of this combination ctrl + F.
They refer to an incident where a bus driver was asked to find a specific snippet of text on a web page.
The girl began to do scroll down by searching for the specific passage on the website. When asked why she doesn't use CTRL+F, she replied that she doesn't know what that is.
The incident triggered Google's interest and conducted a survey.
The Results of it, showed that 90% of users were completely ignorant and in fact most, could not even imagine, that there is such a thing.
How is Ctrl + F:
If we are on a website and we are looking for something, we have two choices. We will procrastinate, searching one-by-one the pages of this site or we will search (whether or not it is available on the site).
However, pressing the Ctrl and F keys (Command+F in MacOSX) at the bottom of the browser opens a search field.
Putting words in the field from what we are looking for, the results will automatically appear on the page, coloring the specific words in order to locate them at a glance:
So, next time you do not have to scroll or browse the depth of the pages.
A Ctrl + F is enough.
