ActInSpace: On May 20-21 a2-innohub in Athens and the p1-innohub in Patras they open their doors at the same time to welcome students, new scientists, engineers, developers, new professionals, creative people who will compete in teams to solve the 54 challenges of the global competition in a creative marathon ActInSpace with the use of space data, creating in 24 hours an innovative design with a realistic solution to best address these challenges.
The competition is open to the public and there is no cost to enter, however pre-registration is required. Its purpose is creation new innovative ideas and business initiatives by exploiting space technologies and cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit.
Competitors are invited to choose among the challenges, the one that suits them, and with the guidance of experts and distinguished mentors to create their own project, which they will present to a committee at the end of the day.
The winner of the national competition in Athens and Patras will represent Greece at the European final in Toulouse at 29 June 2016.
The winning team at the ActInSpace World Final will win a zero-gravity flight on the aircraft where Novespace astronauts are trained. Still among the prizes is a Voucher worth 100.000 € for satellite data from Airbus Defense and Space, and a large number of teams will receive support to further develop their idea and create their own start-up.
The si-cluster, with the aim of promoting young entrepreneurship and the development of space technology in Greece, brings the international competition ActInSpace to Greece for the first time. ActInSpace's national competition is implemented under its coordination Corallia, coordinator of the si-Cluster, courtesy of the members of the si-Cluster: Alma Technologies, ESS, Planetek Hellas and GET, its support EVICEOf IEEE SB NTUA and IEEE SB University of Patras, its technical support Lancom and a communications sponsor The TOC.
ActInSpace, which this year takes place simultaneously in 27 cities worldwide, is organized by European Space Agency (ESA), the French Space Agency (CNES), and ESA BIC Sud France and is supported by Airbus Defense and Space, Airfrance/KLM and Novespace.
