This week there have been several publications on whether the creator of Bitcoin is ultimately Craig Wright or not.
On Monday, Australian businessman Mr Wright claimed to have created the digital currency, but failed to provide convincing evidence. The evidence he released to the public caused the crypto community to question the accuracy of his claims.
In response, Mr Craig Wright said he would provide a definitive proof which will show everyone that he is indeed Satoshi Nakamoto.
However, he did not keep his promise.
Mr. Wright says:
I thought I could do that. I thought I could end up in the years of anonymity and stop hiding. But as the events of this week unfold and I was ready to publish the proof of my access to the first keys, I broke. I do not have the courage. I can not.
Rumors of my qualifications and character began and attacked me. When these allegations proved to be false, new causes started. Now I know I'm not strong enough for that.
I know this weakness will cause great damage to those who supported me, and especially Jon Matonis and Gavin Andresen. I can only hope that the price and their credibility were not irreparably tarnished by my actions. They weren't deceived, but I know people will never believe me now. I can only say I'm sorry.
And goodbye.
The conclusion is yours to make…
