ALS Scan, an adult entertainment network, filed a lawsuit against the celebrity companys Cloudflare, accusing it of working with pirate websites.
ALS Scan, is an adult entertainment network based in the US. He filed a lawsuit in a California court, blaming her Cloudflare, a leading CDN and network security services provider, that it is helping online piracy. It claims that Cloudflare helps pirate websites stay online by providing them with technical support as well as the underlying infrastructure of server her.
ALS Scan reports that Cloudflare has been notified several times that several of its customers, including Pirate Bay,
This lawsuit, in addition to Cludflare, also mentions Tiger Media, an adult advertising agency running Juicy advertisements. Specifically, Tiger Media helps pirate websites stay alive by providing them with a steady stream of revenue, even if these sites are clearly involved in illegal activities.
Την ίδια ημέρα, το Ίδρυμα Electronic Frontier δημοσίευσε ένα άρθρο με τίτλο "Cloudflare protects Internet users by insisting on a court order before blocking customers".
It is, of course, not the first time Cludflare has been accused of protecting shadow web sites. In recent years, and in particular following the terrorist attacks in Paris since last November, Cludflare has provided DDoS with protection on websites related to ISIS.
A positive decision about ALS Scan in this case will open the door for copyright owners to intimidate such companies other than CDN providers like Cloudflare to stop business with pirate sites.
