Comment by Omer Dembinsky, Data Group Manager at Check Point Software:

Cyber attacks on both sides, Russia and Ukraine, continue to increase throughout the conflict. Last week, cyber attacks increased by 10% and 17% respectively, compared to the previous week. It appears that hackers are stepping up their efforts to take advantage of the conflict. The trend is visible not only in the two countries involved, but worldwide.

Globally, we see the average weekly attack per organism last week 16% higher than before the conflict began. I believe that hackers seek to exploit this major issue and interest in the conflict as best they can, as they try to target organizations that cover both the public, perhaps an NGO, non-profit or government entity, and the private sector. CPR will continue to monitor cyber-attacks in the coming weeks as they relate to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
