The United Nations recommends rechargeable batteries Lithium-ion (lithium ions) are not allowed inside the aircraft and their presence on them is completely prohibited.
The reason is the possibility of a fire on the batteries Lithium-ion. Corresponding bans have also been made recently from the airlines around the world, which do not allow the presence hoverboards inside the planes because of the batteries they contain.
The relevant United Nations committee says the possibility of a fire from a chain reaction caused by a malfunction of lithium-ion batteries means that these devices should not be present on airplanes. His recommendations do not include cargo flights, according to The Guardian.
If the United Nations passes such a ban, it is sure to have a major and immediate impact on passenger travel. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) which is responsible for this seat, meets next month to make a final decision on whether the proposal should be put on application.
