The Anonymous (Op) Icarus campaign launched against the banking sector appears to be continuing after eight new financial institutions were hit with DDoS attacks during duration in recent days, since OpIcarus was officially announced.
Its Central Bank received the first DDoS attacks Greeces, and after a few days the Central Bank of Cyprus.
At the moment it seems that the number of attacks grew, and that they come from all directions, from multiple sections of Anonymous such as Ghost Squad Hackers.
The business is transmitted from the account @Op_Icarus on Twitter, who this weekend announced DDoS attacks on the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, Guernsey Financial Services Commission, the Dutch Central Bank and the Central Bank of the Maldives.
A day later, hacking magazine HackRead reported attacks on the Central Bank of Kenya and the National Bank of Panama.
The Ghost Squad Hackers team, s1ege, reported a DDoS attack at the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Anonymous BannedOffline reported similar attacks on the Central Bank of Mexico.
So in less than a week, Anonymous has carried out DDoS in ten of the 160 banks that have threatened in an online manifesto, which includes large names like the US Federal Reserve Bank, the World Bank, the IMF, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Bank of England.
