The first close-ups of the unfortunate rocket launch attempt of Orbital Sciences Corporation, Antares just released, almost a month later. It's terrible.
Recall that the NASA Antares rocket exploded six seconds after its take-off from Virginia to the International Space Station (ISS). He carried an unmanned spacecraft, food and supplies. The management of the Antares missile was carried out by the private company Orbital Sciences.
But the October 28 launch did not go well, the America Space explains:
Immediately after the accident, the launch complex was sealed off, and Orbital Sciences Security was called. At the scene of the incident the Response Team (IRT) seized all data – such as photographs video etc that could help the accident investigation. This procedure is a standard operation in the aftermath of the accident, which is why the data was not released earlier. Some scenes were shown, but not all, as all the footage was confiscated for the investigation.
To be honest, it's almost a miracle that the cameras γύρω από το σημείο εκτόξευσης δεν καταστράφηκαν από την τεράστια explosion.
Ο Elliot Severn, first-line photojournalist states:
The rocket seemed to be hanging in the air and fires started coming out, it was as if they were watching the derailment of a train in slow motion. It fell on a pillar and exploded on impact. We could feel the heat on our face from 1,5 miles away.
The reporter managed to survive and shows us video from 4 cameras around the launch pad. One of the cameras was right in the middle of the explosion, and you'll see comeyea of the debris flying around her.
