Surprises in the established monthly tests antivirus of AV-TEST:
Kaspersky Lab completed this test round by taking the maximum score as it achieved by 6 points, the highest score in tests for protection, performance and usability.
But the surprise we mentioned in the previous paragraph came from the Chinese security company AhnLab, whose software V3 Internet Security managed to catch Kaspersky in its performance, receiving the top score.
Thus, AhnLab's software scored better than virtually all known security products (Bitdefender, Symantec, Avira, and ESET).
The following four companies came very close to the maximum score with 17,5 points: Symantec, McAfee, Bitdefender and Avira, while VIPRE Security and Trend Micro they received a total of 17 points.
Symantec and McAfee products have had similar performance with 6 degrees in protection and usability, but only 5,5 units for performance while Bitdefender achieved the maximum result in 2 first trials but has earned just 5,5 units in usability.
Microsoft's antivirus once again fell far behind with a score of 14 points, although the Windows Defender beat out Comodo's security solution, which only got 13 points. Windows Defender received 5 points for protection and performance and 4 points for usability.
