Η AOC presented its first virtual reality display screen (HMD) in the report gamescom held in Cologne on 18-21 August 2016.
Virtual reality has long been heralded as “its next wonder technologys", but very soon it turned out that it was not possible to meet the expectations of the public. However in 2016, all signs point to its development and the technology behind it being strong enough to make the dream a reality.
In fact, Goldman Sachs said in a report published in January 2016 that virtual reality "has the potential to create a multimillion-dollar industry, and possibly change the world just as computers did in the past."1.
The possibilities of using this technology are as many as those of electronics computers and smartphoness. In addition to its obvious use, ie in the computer game industry (and the military), this technology finds application in the fields of entertainment, live events, education, health, engineering and even retail or real estate. Do you want to take a look at your new home, hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away, from the couch of your old apartment?
Just wear them headphones virtual reality and sit back... And the more the technology evolves, the more its capabilities increase.
"For AOC, entering the HMD market is the next natural step ", says Stefan Sommer, Marketing and Business Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa:" As a subsidiary of the world's largest monitor manufacturer, AOC is always at the forefront of developments in the field of monitors, whether they are desktop screens or head screens. I'm sure the new VR headset is just the beginning of a thrilling journey and that AOC customers can expect even more immersive products in the near future."
