AOL announced about a month ago that the application Winamp will cease to be distributed from December 20.
It turns out, however, that Winamp could still exist after December 20 as a mysterious buyer is interested in implementing the application and adjacent services.
As he says TechCrunch, from sources it does not name, Winamp could be purchased in the near future, which means that AOL will distribute the application until the negotiations have come to an end.
While AOL declined to comment on such a scenario, previous publications wanted Microsoft to be interested in buying the app, which seems quite difficult if one imagines that the Redmond doesn't really need it since it already has it installed Windows Media Player and invests heavily in Xbox Music.
