If Steve Jobs was alive, then her decision Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), να πληρώσει 3,2 δισ. Για την Apple τα 3,2 δισ.
But Steve Jobs is no longer here. And the information that his company is buying Beats, of the 49-year-old former rapper and big producer Dr. Dre (known as Andre Romelle Young) and 61-year-old music tycoon Jimmy Iovine, who is behind stars such as U2 and Lady Gaga, have left astonished analysts devising possible scenarios.
Η Beats, within six years, has established itself as a brand in the music industry, with a 65% share of the luxury headphone market. Based on technology developed by the small audio product company Monster, του αυτοδημιούργητου Νoel Lee (ενός εξαίρετου επιστήμονα με μηδέν επιχειρηματικό ένστικτο, που εκχώρησε όλα τα δικαιώματα και μένει έξω από την τωρινή συμφωνία), λάνσαρε ακουστικά-«κάσκες» με μοντέρνο design σε διάφορα colors and with the name of Dr. Dre for “flag,” and promoted them with marketing for… tutorial. Rappers, DJs and celebrities established them as fashion accessories, while the company's demonic founders devised ways to advertise them even sideways – like at the Olympics, where they handed them out to famous athletes. Experts point out that Beats, which cost up to 400 euros (!), do not justify their price in terms of quality and that people pay mainly for their brand. The listening experience, with an external noise canceling system and deafening bass, is like having a… club in your ears. But the company managed to have revenues of 1,2 billion a year.
One scenario is that Apple wants to leverage Beats' fashion-marketing hybrid into a new generation of wearable technology accessories. Another has to do with the distribution of music. The song market model, where she dominated iTunes for 11 years, seems to be aging. Turnover from legal downloads is declining - a sign that the public wants to listen to music, but not fill hard drives with thousands of songs. The next situation is streaming: the legal Spotify subscription services, which provide access to millions of songs, with the ability to select and add to favorites. Beats has already launched its own service, claiming that it is the most advanced, with algorithms that make… program to each user, depending on time, mood or location, for $ 9,99 a month. Is that where Apple wants to "push" to secure its dominance in the music market?
