Apple sent notifications of targeted attacks to 92 countries

Apple sent targeted threat alerts to iPhone users in 92 countries on Wednesday, warning them they may have been targeted by spyware attacks.apple

The company sent the notices to people in 92 at 12 p.m. Pacific time on Wednesday. The company did not disclose the identity of the attackers or the countries where users received alerts.

“Apple has identified you as a target spyware that tries to compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID -xxx-,” the company says in to its affected customers.

“This attack likely targets you specifically because of who you are or what you do. Although it is never possible to be absolutely certain of detecting such attacks, please take the warning seriously."

The iPhone company sends these notifications several times a year and has notified users in more than 150 countries since 2021, as an updated support page states.
