The developers of the PCLinuxOS distribution have announced the stable version 2024.04. It is a systemd-free (SysV) distribution that is very friendly to novice users. It “wears” KDE Plasma with the latest Linux kernel:
"The PCLinuxOS 2024.04 Full Edition has been released and is available to download. It has the latest Linux Kernel, all the latest KDE Applications, the latest KDE Framework, and the latest KDE Plasma. The next one information will bring KDE Plasma 6 with Wayland”
Features of the new version
Kernel 6.6.25 Safe xz Pipewire Sound Server (replaces Pulseaudio sound server) KDE Plasma Frameworks 5.115 KDE Plasma 5.27.11 KDE Applications 23.08.5 Mate Desktop 1.28.2 XFCE Desktop 4.18 Updated applications on ISOs and in the software repository.
The distribution is ideal for Windows users who want to experiment with Linux, or are considering switching functional system.
