The Hoax Slayer revealed another phishing scam that targets Apple customers, asking them to submit their Apple ID and password, along with their credit card information.
The hoax comes in the form of an e-mail that claims to come from the Apple Security Department. Apple, of course, does not have such a department that it sends an update to its client.
The email states, “Your Apple ID was used to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store with a computer or device that was never used by your Apple ID. If you did not make this download, you will need to confirm your account and validate your information. ”
