Yes iOS 10 is coming: Apple just announced the next version of iOS today at WWDC 2016 giving developers watching the congress, a taste of what's to come on iPhone and iPad devices.
"We have reached a major milestone," Apple said, adding that "iOS 10 is the largest iOS ever released to our users" as it comes with 10 great new features.
The new iOS 10 comes with a redesigned rich-screen lock screen and makes full use of the 3D Touch technology available on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and is most likely to be available on the upcoming iPhone 7.
IOS 10 will allow iPhone to "wake up" when you pick up the device from your desk, so you no longer need to press the home button.
It brings rich alerts, which will allow you to interact with applications, so you can respond to a iMessage directly from the lock screen. 3D Touch can now be used to dismiss all notifications in one go. The Control Center has been redesigned from the ground up.
On the lock screen now, swiping from the top right will launch the camera, and swiping to the left will bring up widgets that let you see the weather, news, appointment, And much more.
The digital assistant Siri has also improved, and Apple reports that it had 2 billion requests every week. Siri is being opened up to developers so users will be able to ask her to send messages conversations from various applications, thanks to third-party API integration.
