If you know from computers, you probably will have helped enough of your friends or family members to remove various toolbars, viruses and other unwanted content from Windows systems. If you are not, you may have been affected by all of the above and you have been trying to find ways and methods to get rid of the toolbars.
One of the most notorious tollbar is the Ask Toolbar which to this day is integrated with all Java downloads for Windows and Macintosh systems.
The point where all the obvious side-by-side bundles are betting is that most users do not expect to be offered a secondary software along with downloading freeware of interest to them.
This greatly contributes to the spread of tοοlbars on all Windows systems.
Some toolbars are responsible for changing the browser's basic settings as well as for changing the default search engine.
Ask Toolbar is no exception as it will change your search engine to Ask.com if you are not careful and do not disable it while installing java.
It can also change the browser home page and the new tab page as you can see in the photo of this article. The options to install Ask Tobar are enabled by default and will actually be installed if you are not careful when installing java.
Microsoft announced in May that it decided to change its evaluation criteria companys in relation to programs that affect search.
In particular, Microsoft security programs will begin detecting these applications from June 1, 2015.
Microsoft recently gave information about Ask Tobar on the security website.
He mentions that "software creates a high level of threat" for computers and is on second place of the evaluation.
These are programs that could collect personal information and negatively affect your privacy or damage your computer. For example, the program collects information about settings or changes you make, usually without your knowledge or consent.
The description on the Microsoft security portal makes a distinction between the latest version of toolbars, which states that they are "not considered spam" and previous versions that it describes as "spam".
Did the company have asked to change the behavior of tοolbars due to a change in Microsoft policy relative to programs using the search protection code?
However, it is clear that Microsoft security software such as Windows Defender, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Microsoft Safety Scanner can and do detect certain versions of Ask Toolbar and prompt you to remove them from users' systems.
