AT&T Flying COW: Flying Cows Distribute Internet!

A publication of the telephone AT&T describes in detail a project called Flying COW or in Greek Flying Cow. Yes, you read that right.

The cow or COW, comes out of the initials of the words Cell on Wings, which is an initiative by the company to distribute LTE with in high-volume data traffic areas, such as concerts, festivals, or in a place after a natural disaster as a means of emergency. Flying COW

"A flying cow (Flying COW) will be able to provide coverage, even when a vehicle is unable to reach a designated area," the company's blog post said.

AT&T says it is currently researching how it can use drones to send large amounts of data in real time and is preparing to test the project nationwide this week. Unlike traditional signal boosters, AT&T believes drones can grow faster and provide enhanced services exactly where they are needed.

This is not the first time the company uses drones. In the past, it has used unmanned aircraft to inspect cell towers and quickly transmit data to the maintenance team to speed up the process.
