Η AT&T ανακοίνωσε το Σάββατο ότι επεξεργάζεται μια συμφωνία για την εξαγορά της Time Warner. Η price acquisition of Time Warner is valued at $85,4 billion.
The deal will allow AT&T to stream video to millions of wireless networks, U-verse and broadband cables, as well as to DirecTV satellite subscribers.
The agreement is expected to be completed by the end of 2017, as companies are awaiting approval by the regulatory committee.
In short, the deal will give AT&T control of Time Warner content companies such as CNN, HBO, DC Comics, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, and more.
AT&T, for its part, stated that the combined company will try to become the first US mobile operator to compete nationally with cable companies with mobile broadband and video bundles.
“This is a perfect match of two companies with complementary strengths that can bring a new approach to how the media industry works informationand communication for customers, content creators, distributors and advertisers," said Mr Randall Stephenson, President and CEO of AT&T.
“Premium content always wins. We've seen it on the big screen, on her screen television και τώρα θα το δούμε στην οθόνη του κινητού. Θα έχουμε το καλύτερο premium περιεχόμενο του κόσμου και τα δίκτυα για να το παραδώσουμε σε κάθε οθόνη.”
