Free Bitdefender Anti-Ransomware

Bitdefender Anti-Ransomware is a new product from the BitDefender Security. The new security application comes to protect Windows PCs from several families of ransomware.bitdefender anti-ransomware

Remember that as Ransomware we describe a specific type of malicious software (malware) designed to force its victims to pay a ransom – usually in the form of Bitcoin, i.e. anonymously. Extortion to pay ransom is done by encrypting data or locking it of the infected system.

Bitdefender Anti-Ransomware was released as a new project by the security company's laboratories. This means that the program does not exist on the company's central website.

You can download the application from the link at the end of the publication and install it on any computer running one of the supported versions of the Windows operating system.

As with other Bitdefender Labs projects, there is very little information available so far. For example, Bitdefender does not list supported operating systems. We tested the program on a computer with and it ran normally without any problems.

The company says that the app will protect your system against many known and future versions of CTB-, Locky and TeslaCrypt.

Here we should mention that Bitlocker Anti-Ransomware does not generally protect against all ransomware attacks as the digital signatures it recognizes are limited.

If future new ransomware families are added to the application, it will certainly become more appealing.
