BMW X2City: The X2City's new folding electric scooter BMW is a landmark product of the company in many ways. It will be the first BMW product to be sold and serviced outside of BMW's global dealer network.
BMW seems to want to tackle the issue of secondary transportation to its vehicles for some time now. 2012 had announced a folding electric bicycle called i Pedelec, but for some reason it failed commercially.
BMW X2City which can be placed in the back of your car, is powered by a battery Marquardt 408 Wh Li-ion battery designed to be easily removable.
We do not know whether this ease of removal battery will make it easy prey for thieves, or how easy it will be to lock the X2City somewhere on the road.
Disc brakes are high quality parts from Magura although there is no suspension. The tires have a high profile and are designed in such a way as to absorb road abnormalities.
The new X2City can reach 25 km per hour and one charge is enough from 25 to 35 kilometers. BMW claims its size when folded is smaller than a folding bike.
Let's mention that BMW has been manufacturing bicycles since 1945, cars from 1929 and motorcycles from 1923.
Although the price of the vehicle has not been determined so far, BMW reports that X2City will not be sold for less than 2.500 € when it is released on Christmas 2017.
