Privacy may seem like a myth today in the fast-paced world of technology. The Brave browser is known to try to make this myth a reality. The company, however, went one step further in ensuring user privacy by creating an internal search engine (Brave Search), which it uses as the default search engine in its browser.
Ο Brave browser is known for blocking trackers and third-party ads by default. So Brave Search was created with the same logic, focusing on user privacy.
Η Brave search according to the company is a powerful search engine that puts your privacy first. It does not track search queries and provides complete transparency. Brave's company will not be able to sell your search data because it does not collect it. The Brave Search engine uses a standalone index which means it is not based on Google or Bing results.
Brave Search was released as a public beta and to date receives about 80 million search queries per month.
Brave Search will now replace Google in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. DuckDuckGo and Qwant will also be replaced by Brave Search in Germany and France, respectively. Other geographical areas will follow soon.
User privacy is paramount and Brave Search seems to be making it a reality. Although the Brave Search engine may not yet be able to compete with Google and Bing, things may change along the way as global demand for more privacy grows.
