Bridges Awards by September 16 submitting applications

Two weeks are left to complete the Bridges Awards entry process.

The new awards program, implemented for the first time this year as part of the Knowledge and Cooperation Bridges initiative aimed at highlighting and rewarding Greek-wide cooperation around the world, invites interested people to submit their proposal by Monday 16 September 2019 at 17: 00 (Greek Time) on the website http://awards.Knowledgebridges.gr.

The Bridges Awards include two categories of awards, the "Bridges of Science Networks" and the "Bridges of Business Collaboration".

The first category awards individual scientific networks or affiliate networks from Greece and abroad, which have outstanding results, involving at least 15 members from all over the world.

The second category focuses on business groups, involving Greek and foreign nationals (Greek or non-Greek), with the aim of producing a product or service with an impact in the country.

The Bridges Awards winners will receive the following prizes:

For the category of scientific networks, the 1st Prize: 15.000 euros, the 2nd Prize: 12.000 euros, the 3rd Prize: 10.000 euros and the 3 Distinctions: 5.000 euros (per distinction).

For the category of business partnerships, the 1st Prize: 25.000 euros, the 2nd Prize: 20.000 euros, the 3rd Prize: 15.000 euros and the 3 Awards: 10.000 euros (per distinction).

Evaluation of award applications will be carried out by two independent expert committees specializing in entrepreneurship and science.

The evaluation consists of three stages:

1. checking the formal fulfillment of the requirements for participation,

2. the evaluation of applications for awards; and

3. checking the validity of the supporting documents for the applications to be awarded.

Bridges Awards implementers are the Ministry of Development and Investment and the National Center for Documentation and Electronic Content (ESF).

It is noted that through the Bridges of Knowledge and Collaboration initiative (www.knowledgebridges.grsupports networking and the development of "bridges" with Greeks living and working abroad, emphasizing their reunification with the country, taking advantage of opportunities to engage and collaborate with scientists, professionals, institutions and businesses.
