The developer and maintainer of the CentOS project Johnny Hughes announced the availability of a new, important update versionLinux kernel security patches for CentOS 7 series operating systems.
CentOS 7 is originally distributed and distributed freely from the source code of the business suite of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which means it benefits from its security code.
According to the recent RHSA-2017:0086-1 security advisory, which was marked as important, three vulnerabilities.
Two of these security gaps characterized as moderate and one important. For anyone interested in learning more, the vulnerabilities are documented with the codes CVE-2016-7117, CVE-2016-6828 and CVE-2016-9555.
To mitigate the risks, it is recommended that you install the new package kernel-3.10.0-514.6.1.el7.x86_64 from the official repositories, as soon as possible.
A regular update of your system will take care of this, but do not forget to restart your machine to work with the new kernel.
