As announced today, OpenDNS will become a Cisco company for the amount of 635 million dollars, payable in cash.
OpenDNS is a private company better safetys in San Francisco, which offers phishing protection and content filtering options with its own DNS (Domain Name System).
Cisco, on the other hand, is a company that plans and supplies networking equipment and cloud security solutions. This will take advantage of the OpenDNS cloud platform, which is accessible to more than 65 million users on a daily basis.
Commenting on the takeover in a post at blog today, Hilton Romanski, senior vice president and head of Cisco's business development, said he would allow his company to provide better protection against threats to network entry points that are not tracked and potentially unsafe.

If all the conditions are met, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of fiscal year 2016.
