Its GoToMyPC service Citrix, εξέδωσε μια ανακοίνωση-προnotice for all its users, stating that it has been the target of a “highly sophisticated password attack access.” The company advises all its users to change the passwords they have been using.
The statement was made on its website, and Citrix, which owns the remote connection service, said that all users should reset their GoToMyPC passwords to be able to re-connect. It urges all users to use two-factor authentication.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that this issue may cause," Citrix said.
The company has not been able to confirm the number of passwords that it believes are stolen or what other information hackers may have received, and according to the announcement it is still investigating the hack.
The hack on the GoToMyPC service came after the attack on TeamViewer, which offers a similar one product.
TeamViewer had said that its systems were not violated while there were reports from users complaining that their PCs had been attacked. So they discovered that various purchases had taken place through their PCs, from designer clothes to gift cards.
