Developer James Brown created a LEGO computer, complete with a real processor and of course a screen. Yes screen….
The computer is made using the 2 x 2 inclined brick. James created it entirely from scratch with the help of a XNUMXD printer and an ARM microcontroller.
It runs normally and has screen animations that look like terminal lines in scroll, as well as loading animations. The screen used inside this custom LEGO is extremely tiny – less than half an inch in width. Brown also created a custom mechanical keyboard as well as an OLED screen. The keyboard can be programmed with a video demo that shows letters changing from lowercase to uppercase on the fly.
Instead of using one Raspberry Pi to power the tiny terminal, Brown created a custom PCB printed just for it project of using an ARM chip. On this board is an STM32F030F4P6TR (ARM Cortex M0 series microcontroller with 32-bit single core and 16KB flash). It is paired with a 0,42-inch OLED display that has a resolution of 72 x 40 px.
Brown explains that it is powered by an old LEGO 9V system that uses conductive strips.
