If you are one of the unlucky ones to download the malicious Coronavirus Tracker app to your Android device, there is good news: You can unlock your phone without paying a ransom in Bitcoin.
Investigators from security company ESET noticed that hackers encrypted the ransomware key. So after a bit of searching in the code, the researchers were able to discover the key. So to remove the malicious application, just enter the number: 4865083501.
It remains unclear how users were infected with the malicious Coronavirus Tracker application, but DomainTool, the company that first revealed it, says the campaign does not appear to have spread widely. In any case, the above number will be very useful to some.
