Remember when you could crash Skype with just eight characters? It takes exactly twice as much to crash Chrome: A 16-character link and an Enter, making click πάνω του, ή ακόμα βάζοντας τον κέρσορα του ποντικιού σας πάνω του, φτάνει να διακόψει τη λειτουργία του προγράμματος περιήγησης της Google.
The error ανακαλύφθηκε από τον Andris Atteka, ο οποίος εξηγεί στο blog του το πόσο εύκολα μπορείτε να “ρίξετε” τον Chrοme μόνο με την προσθήκη ενός null χαρακτήρα στη συμβολοσειρά του URL.
His example was with 26 characters, but we have managed to get the same results even with 10 characters.
You can try it yourself, even with the latest Chrome 45 (the latest stable version), just type in the address bar:
http://a/%%30%30
Atteka reported the bug to Google today. but did not receive any financial reward, as it is not considered a threat to the safety of Chrome users.
Right now the bug affects Chrôme on Windows and Mac, and Chrome on Android does not seem to be a problem.
You can try the error yourself by simply dragging the cursor over the link and crashing the Chrome tab along with any other tab that is open.
Take your tests at Atteka's blog. The example above does not work deliberately so you can read this article.
