The translation of the fourth edition of the licenses has been completed Creative Commons 4.0 στην ελληνική γλώσσα, η οποία έγινε με τη cooperation of the Cypriot and Greek Creative Commons groups.
Creative Commons licenses are a set of standardized copyright licenses that allow creators to freely distribute their work to the public. The licenses in question vary and each creator has the possibility to choose the one that corresponds better to his needs.
Creatives of all kinds, academics, researchers, teachers, artists, bloggers, public institutions, libraries, archives, museums, state and private entities use Creative Commons licenses to disseminate their works on the Internet free of charge, under terms they understand and deem appropriate , while at the same time assuring that these users will respect the terms of the license and be bound by it.
Creative Commons licenses were incorporated into Greek Law in 2007 by a working group whose scientific supervision was the then president of the Intellectual Property Organization, professor at the University of Athens, Mrs. Dionysia Kallinikou. The translation of version 4.0 of Creative Commons licenses into Greek is expected to be valuable tool for the dissemination of the scientific, literary and artistic creationin Greece and Cyprus.
To promote the Creative Commons goals, volunteers are headed by local teams in each of the national jurisdictions for which Creative Commons licenses have already been customized. Creative Commons International and volunteer leaders of local groups are independent and separate entities, but they also work together to contribute to the adoption of the licenses and tools offered by Creative Commons.
