Two Dutch users of the BitTorrent platform have been convicted of illegal distribution of content without copyright. The defendants do not seem to have missed them, and they use crowdfunding sites to manage their fines.
Οι δύο χρήστες καταγγέλθηκαν από την BREIN, μια ολλανδική οργάνωση για την προστασία των πνευματικών δικαιωμάτων. Και οι δύο χρήστες κατάφεραν να έρθουν σε εξώδικο διακανονισμό με την BREIN, αφού συμφώνησαν να σταματήσουν την αποστολή νέων torrents, to post discouraging messages on their profiles, Kickass Torrents and Pirate Bay, and pay a small fine for their actions.
So DisasterZany, a user of Kickass Torrents, agreed to pay 1.750 dollars while ipod020, a user of Kickass Torrents and Pirate Bay, agreed to pay 2120 dollars.
According to a post posted by another user on Kickass Torrents, both pirates set up crowdfunding campaigns on the Dutch webσελίδα Dream or Donate.
Up to now, the DisasterZany has managed to raise 363 euros from 36 donations, while the ipod020 has 688 from 58 donations.
Both users are said to be students without income.
The Dutch website with news technology Tweakers reports that BREIN representatives are unhappy with the two pirates, mainly because in their way they do not prevent other uploaders, since they know that they can easily cover the fines, with crowdfunding campaigns.
