As we mentioned in the morning, the Cyanogen company decided to stop all its activities and services by the end of the year. Although the company promised that everyone would be able to download the old builds of its operating system, the CyanogenMod website has gone offline.
The good news though is that part of the team CyanogenMod will continue development of the operating system under a different name: As it appears LineageOS will continue the tradition.
According to a publication in Reddit, LineageOS became forked by CyanogenMod's open source code.
The team promised to launch a new website as it will give more information on the project tomorrow Tuesday 27 December, 2016. So although CyanogenMod seems to have lost DNS to its domain, we hope all content will be accessible through the LineageOS page of a new site that will officially start tomorrow.
The LineageOS project plans to maintain CyanogenMod's tradition by continuing to develop a new one for free CyanogenMod one open-source project for custom Android operating system.
However, LineageOS members point out: “It will take some time for us to grow healthy. Community organization and development structure is key. We will also need financial and development support. “
