Successfully completed a workshop on safe navigation at Internet, for the students of the National School of Judicial Officers, at the Court of First Instance of Thessaloniki
The Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate of the Greek Police organized today (13-6-2014), at the premises of the Thessaloniki Court of First Instance, a workshop in the framework of a study visit by 19 studentsth series of the National School of Judicial Officers.
The event was attended by the Chief of Electronic Crime Division, Brigadier Emmanouil Sfakianakis, and other specialized officers of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Division, who informed the students of the School both on Internet Law and on Safe Internet Navigation as well as on for the dangers that lie ahead, alongside online research practices.
The thematic units developed during the workshop were:

The mission of the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office.

The offenses and the way they are committed through the internet, as well as in research and prevention practices.

Internet Legislation.

The phenomena of online violence, the dangers of social networking sites and the prevention and management of risks associated with new technologies in general.

Statistics on the penetration of Greeks on the Internet and the cases that the Electronic Crime Prosecution is facing daily.
The aim of the workshop was the knowledge of Internet Law by the new Judges and Prosecutors, as well as the actions of the Electronic Crime Investigation on matters arising during the investigation of cases.
In addition, the activity of the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office, which includes the prevention, investigation and repression of crimes and anti-social behaviors committed through the Internet or other electronic means of communication, has been presented.
