DecryptCryptoLocker Free CryptoLocker-Infected Files Decrypt Tool

DecryptCryptoLocker: FireEye security company and Fox-IT have developed and released a free tool to help the victims of CryptoLocker ransomware.

The new service, announced today on Wednesday, is called DecryptCryptoLocker. IGuRu.gr presents the first free tool to help those affected by CryptoLocker ransomware.

DecryptCryptoLocker

CryptoLocker is a malicious Windows software. It comes with phishing campaigns and watering hole attacks. Malicious software aggressively infects the system by encrypting the victim's files. Displays a timer on the screen, and requires a ransom payment within 72 hours, Usually criminals are asking for about 300 dollars. Once the victim has paid the amount, the crooks send him a private key to unlock his records.

Last December, Dell SecureWorks estimated that CryptoLocker has managed to infect 250.000 computers.

Let's go to the FireEye decryption tool. To use the DecryptCryptLocker tool, you will need to:

  • Identify a single, encrypted file from CryptoLocker that infected you. The file should not contain sensitive information.
  • Upload the encrypted file to portal of DecryptCryptoLocker.
  • You will receive a private key from the portal and a link to download and install the Decryptolοcker.exe decryption tool that can be run locally on their computer.
  • Finally, run the decryption tool locally on your computer using your private key to decrypt all the encrypted files on your hard drive.

The DecryptCryptoLοcker tool is available all over the world. However, because there are many versions of CryptoLocker, the tool may not be able to successfully decrypt each file. But since you pay a ransom, it's worth trying it.
