The manufacturer company Dell computers he said την Παρασκευή ένα νέο εργαλείο ασφαλείας που εντοπίζει attacks που επιχειρούν να τροποποιήσουν το BIOS του συστήματος.
Called Dell SafeBIOS Events & Indicators of Attack, it works by detecting changes to the BIOS configuration of Dell computers while promoting a notice in the owners' management consoles.
The purpose of the tool is to enable system administrators to isolate workstations that may have been compromised until they are available for recovery.
The tool is not intended to replace the full capabilities of a security endpoint system (antivirus) but to provide protection against a range of attacks (BIOS attacks) which most productprotections are not built to manage or detect them.
"Detection at this level allows companies to respond to advanced threats quickly and successfully, breaking the offensive chain before it can do more damage," the company said on Friday.
Dell has announced that the tool will be provided free of charge to all of its corporate customers. The tool is already available for download through the Dell Trusted Device.
The Dell SafeBIOS Events & Indicators of Attack tool is Dell's latest security offering. Since the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, Dell has provided its customers with many flexible endpoint solutions.
