Cardiologist sues Apple for heart rate detection

A doctor from New York sued Apple claiming that the Watch device uses its technique to detect irregular heart function.

A cardiologist at New York University believes that Apple has added its own heart monitoring technology to the Apple Watch device. This is Dr. Joseph Wiesel, who sued Apple alleging that the uses one atrial fibrillation detection method, which is vested in him with patent.

Wiesel claims he spoke with Apple in September 2017 about the patent, but that the company "refused to negotiate in good faith" and did not give him another than to exercise .

The doctor hopes to prevent Apple from using the atrial fibrillation detection method without paying the royalties. For its part, Apple has not yet commented on this lawsuit.
