Cyber criminals do everything to get your online accounts, not only on Facebook but also on Twitter.
Twitter has verified accounts (with the green tick) on celebrity and brand accounts that use the platform, in order to "verify" their identity. Of course it is known that the company does not accept verification requests from the general public.
Malwarebytes says scammers are trying to take advantage of thousands of users' desire for the green light and have created a website to steal names and passwords access which appears to be genuine.
Η fake page looks real because all the links contained in it lead to legitimate pages, hosted on Twitter domains.
However, password theft occurs in the background and the victim immediately after the "verification" is taken to the FAQ page.
So beware of the hunters who promise hares with rocks.
