Ways and "secrets" for Internet users to protect their privacy were revealed by former US National Security Agency (NSA) partner Edward Snowden, speaking via Google Hangputs on Air, at the conference on new technologies SXSW ( South by SouthWest), held in Austin, Texas.

Edward Snowden advised users to take two important steps to protect their digital privacy: the encryption of physical devices to protect them in case of seizure and the use of network encryption to cover their digital footprints.
Disk encryption can be accomplished using a variety of commercially available tools. These tools encrypt all the data of a device and prevent unauthorized access. Network encryption includes a range of technologies such as SSL (Electronic Certificate) protocols, designed to provide secure communication through the use of a symmetric key to encrypt data.
Answering a question, he stated that he does not regret the leak of secret NSA documents. “Would I do it again? The answer is yes. "No matter what happens to me, this is something we were entitled to know," he said. "I had vowed to support and defend the Constitution, and I saw that the Constitution was being violated on a large scale," he continued, applauded by the 3.000 people present in the conference room. "Data should not be collected without the knowledge or consent of citizens," he said.
It has also clarified that the government has the ability to deprive Internet users of rights, stressing that even somebody may be imprisoned.
