We have been hearing for some time that the new browser Microsoft's Chromium-based version will be released for Linux PCs at some point.
And Microsoft seems to mean it. We now know that Edge for Linux will finally be released and it is official.
It was first announced during the Ignite 2019 conference held in Orlando, USA, at the meeting "State of the Browser”(Approximately at 8.24). Microsoft has announced that Edge for Linux will be released sometime in 2020.
When exactly; Nobody knows, but an Edge Linux port has been around since the company first launched the stable browser for macOS and Windows 10 on January 15, 2020.
But during Build 2020, Microsoft introduced the program tours Microsoft Edge running on a Linux system. This means that the company has not abandoned its plan and is still developing Edge.
The following screenshot shows a Gnome 3 desktop running the Edge browser normally.

At the Build 2020 conference, Microsoft once again stated that it was exploring Linux OS as a possible platform for the Edge, but again did not mention a release date.
With the release of Edge for Linux, Microsoft hopes that web developers will be involved in using it in their projects without having to switch to Windows systems.
But the big question is: will anyone else use it?
